{"id":293,"date":"2019-06-12T07:47:00","date_gmt":"2019-06-12T07:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beta-happenize.club\/access\/?p=293"},"modified":"2019-06-12T07:47:40","modified_gmt":"2019-06-12T07:47:40","slug":"ebace2019-session-looks-at-impending-brexit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/access.aero\/?p=293","title":{"rendered":"EBACE2019 Session Looks at Impending Brexit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/beta-happenize.club\/access\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/brexit-panel.jpg\" width=\"95%\" height=\"auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As the 31 October 2019 deadline for the United Kingdom (UK) to exit the European Union (EU) gets closer, attendees of the 2019 European Business Aviation Convention &amp; Exhibition (EBACE2019) discussed what the pending Brexit could mean for aviation, particularly business aviation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not here to talk about Brexit, we\u2019re here to assume it\u2019s happened,\u201d moderator Graham Williamson, Sonas Aviation, in setting the tone for the panel, adding it\u2019s important to work out the kinks before Brexit takes place.<\/p>\n<p>David Kendrick, with the British Civil Aviation Authority, said it\u2019s \u201cnot all glum,\u201d at his agency, which is thinking ahead and already working on issues including licensing and certification. What we don\u2019t want to see is a connectivity problem, he said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/beta-happenize.club\/access\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/brexit-attend.jpg\" width=\"95%\" height=\"auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we do get to 1 November, success for us will be a person gets on a plane exactly the same as he did on the 31 October, and notice no difference whatsoever,\u201d Kendrick said, adding they want to preserve as much of the \u201cstatus quo\u201d as possible.<br \/>\nFr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Jos, from BRJ Avocats Associ\u00e9s, talked about the issue from the EU perspective. \u201cWe have been keeping calm and hoping for the best and preparing for the worst,\u201d she said. Jos, who serves as the vice-chair of the Associate Member Advisory Council of EBAA said, there were several areas to take into consideration \u2013 particularly certification and agreements that are currently in place with UK entities.<\/p>\n<p>Clyde &amp; Co.\u2019s Mark Bissett, who helped write the EBAA Brexit Report, said much has changed since that report came out, adding there was a \u201cdry run\u201d in March when Brexit was supposed to take place and now there\u2019s another opportunity to see \u201cwhat we can do\u201d as October approaches.
